Strategies These strategies, which are the heart of the plan, are intended to address those barriers listed above in order to help us better achieve our stated goals, also listed above. A task force will develop each strategy in greater detail (i.e., develop tactics to advance the strategy).
- Strengthen the core liberal arts and sciences disciplines and skills. (undergraduate programs- Crete, Lincoln, and Grand Island campuses)
- Provide more opportunities for faculty to interact with students on a more personalized level-both in teaching and research-as well as opportunities for faculty to engage in their own scholarly activities and to interact with each other. (all programs at all campuses)
- Invest in programs that will help our graduates succeed after leaving Doane College. (all programs at all campuses)
- Develop an enrollment management plans that addresses the College's goals on all campuses, including greater diversity and a Crete-campus student body size of 1150 by 2010 through recruitment, retention, and tuition/financial aid policies.
- Increase diversity of Doane College (e.g., racial, ethnic, geographic, international) and experiences that provide students greater exposure to the world. (all programs at all campuses)
- Invest in student-centered facilities and in student life programming that focuses on intellectual engagement and healthy living.
- Ensure a positive work environment and competitive compensation package for all employees of Doane College.
- Raise the profile of Doane College not solely in Nebraska but also the nation and the world. (all programs at all campuses)
There is no explicit financial strategy because it pervades every strategy. We will have met our financial goals IF 1) the strategic plan is financially viable and 2) Doane achieves greater revenue balance between net tuition, gifts/grants, and endowment support.
Technology pervades everything we do at the campus. While there is no explicit strategy related to technology, it must be the goal of Doane College to continue to integrate and reflect technology in the academic experience as well as on the administrative side of the College. Doane College can be a leader on this front in terms of how well technology can simplify our students' lives and enhance their educational experiences.
