Peter Reinkordt
Peter Reinkordt is of German and Swedish descent. In 1941 his family fled their home country of Estonia because of Soviet occupation and resettled in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany, where Peter was born. The family immigrated to the United States following his father's death in 1956. Reinkordt continued his education at North High in Omaha and the University of Omaha, graduating with a bachelor's degree in German, English and American literature. He studied in Tübingen, Germany for one year, then earned a master's degree and doctorate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He taught at a private school in Switzerland for four years, and traveled in Asia, North Africa and Europe for two years before returning to Nebraska. He travels to Europe annually, visiting Doane students studying or working abroad.
