Lyn Forester

Lyn Forester

Lyn Forester has worked in education for the past 30 years.  She was an elementary teacher for 15 years before moving into higher education.  Forester serves as chair of Doane's Teacher Education program and dean of the Curriculum and Instruction Master's in Education Program.  She also is in charge of the Doane's teacher education master's degree programs at the Navajo Nation in Arizona.

Forester also coordinates and guides the program in compliance for NCATE and State assessment.  On campus, she teaches elementary mathematics methods and a variety of master's degree courses including assessment, curriculum course work and research. She recently published (2006) an article with a teacher education colleague in the American Association of Teaching and Curriculum Journal.   

Her present research interests include Literacy Coaching, teaching strategies for content curriculum and mathematics education. Forester received an undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina in elementary education, followed by reading specialist certification from the University of Central Oklahoma, a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma and her Ed.D. from Oklahoma State University in Curriculum Supervision.
