Responsibilities include teaching art history courses and preference may be given to a candidate who displays the flexibility and ability to teach 2-D design and studio classes in drawing, design, painting or printmaking. Requirements: MFA with experience teaching art history, or PhD with experience teaching studio classes. Duties include advising students, co-advising/ involvement in student organizations. Music: Doane College invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Music beginning Fall 2012, pending final budget approval. Doctorate and minimum three years experience public school experience preferred. The college is looking for an additional faculty member who can contribute to our general music program but who also can help support our growing music education program including curricular development and student recruitment. Preference may be given to someone who can also contribute to the instrumental program. Teaching responsibilities would include music education methods for majors (elementary, middle level and/or secondary), supervision of student teachers and other teaching experiences, teaching conducting and conducting an ensemble depending upon the candidate's qualifications. Secondary Education: Doane College invites applications for a tenure track position as an assistant or associate professor of secondary education beginning fall 2012. PhD or EdD and three years teaching experience in an accredited or approved school required with current teaching license preferred. The ability to teach a pre-service class on utilizing technology in the K-12 classroom along with expertise in one of these content areas: secondary English, mathematics, fine arts, or the sciences. The successful candidate will be ready to explore innovative teaching methods in a liberal arts setting, collaborate with school based faculty, and demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity.
